Award glory for SAAP
The work done by Stirling Area Access Panel to champion accessible environments in the local area has been recognised with a national award.
Our Panel was named as the runner up at the Scottish Sensory and Equality Awards 2019 for the category 'Outstanding practice, innovation and dedication to sensory loss and inclusion in a specific local area (organisation/community group) Sponsor'. We shared this award with Perth and Kinross Access Panel and Lochaber Access Panel.
The award ceremony took place on 15 March.
SAAP member, Sally Shaw, was there to collect the award. She said, "There are a lot of wonderful local organisations pressing for improved access and inclusion so it is a real accolade for SAAP to be named one of the best. I was very proud to pick up the award, which reflects a lot of the hard work done by Panel trustees and members on behalf of local people."
