The Panel has met with Stirling University to discuss plans for a £20m revamp of Stirling University's Sports Centre.
The plans, if approved, will create a new sports complex that will be integrated with the existing facilities, which are world-class.
We discussed the plans with the architects and (in contrast to the Campus Central project - see February post), we were impressed with the careful consideration given to the issues around accessibility and inclusion.
Student representatives have requested that gender-neutral changing and shower facilities be provided, alongside traditional male/female spaces. We have supported the student position.
Overall, we feel this is an excellent project which will span 2 years of work.
